My experiences with Linux

Most of us stumble upon Linux by accident, via Azure or by some stuff in the world of tech redirecting us like a hyperlink into Linux. Some of them discover Linux beause they are fed up of the operating system they used before, mostly windows. I was both, somehow. See, as my father was a software developer, he had a computer at home. It ran Windows XP for some years and during that period, I didn't know much since I was five years old or something. But after Microsoft convinced everyone to switch to Windows 7, my father switched to Linux. The reason being that the computer didn't meet the requirements of Windows 7. So that began my Linux journey.

But that wasn't true either. A true Linux experience, in my opinion is when you install your first distro, customize it, break it, start distro hopping, settle and then tinker your system to your preferences. But all I could do on that was code with Scratch (which I learnt with the help menu when you clicked a block in older versions).

The true experience began with the laptop I use. My 15 year old Sony Vaio. Bored, in a summer afternoon, I sat down to watch a Pewdiepie video. It was about Linux. After watching it, I realised that Linux is good an maybe I should give it a shot. So I did. I flashed Linux Mint on a USB, booted it up, and installed it.

Here I am, a year later. All thanks to my curiousity to try Linux, optimize it, try new distros. But how is that even related to coding? Well, my next webpage contains the story. I'll meet you there.
